The agencies that CARES currently funds and a short description of the funding.

JUSTICE CATEGORY:

Monroe County Probation Department - Urine Drug Screens
Funding Monroe County Drug Treatment Court for urine drug screens.Utilize randomized drug tests as intervention tools to monitor offenders’ substance use while under the supervision of the drug court program.

Indiana University Police Department - Portable breathalyzer testers
Funding portable breathalyzer testers.

Monroe Circuit Court Probation Department (Community Corrections) - Alcohol Testing
Utilize alcohol breath tests as intervention tools to monitor offenders’ alcohol use while under probation/Community Corrections supervision. 3 cameras will be purchased, and will be used by police Officers who are trained to work in the area of illegal substance related activity and alcohol use.


Indiana State Excise Police - Stop Under Age Drinking and Sales (SUDS)
Funding a program called Stop Under Age Drinking and Sales (SUDS).

Ellettsville Police Department - In-car camera
Equipment that could aid in the detection, apprehension, and conviction of individuals involved in illegal substance related activity.

Bloomington Police Department - Radar detectors
Funding radar detectors.

Mental Health Alliance of Monroe County - Monroe County Jail substance abuse issues
Funding a program in the Monroe County Jail for individuals with substance abuse issues.

Amethyst House - Men's and Women's Houses
Amethyst House Men's and Women's Houses: Funding contributing to half way houses for men and women with substance abuse issues.

Center for Behavioral Health - Recovery House
Funding Recovery House, a short term residential house for individuals with substance abuse issues.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana - Community Based One to One Program
Funding a program called Community Based One to One Program, which acts as a prevention program for at risk youth.

Rhino's Youth Center - Drug Free activities
Funding contributing to programming that focuses on drug free activities for youth.

Stepping Stones - Youth Programming
Funding contributing to programming for at risk youth.

Monroe County Community School Corporation - Life Skills Workbooks
Funding to purchase Life Skills Workbooks for students in efforts to prevent use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs.

Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington - SMART Moves
Funding a program called SMART Moves, a prevention program for at risk youth.

Girls, Inc - PEERsuaion
Funding a program called PEERsuaion, Moves, a prevention program for at risk youth.

Latin Community Center - Mental Health Program
Funding a program that focuses on the area of mental health of Latino immigrants

TREATMENT CATEGORY:

Amethyst House, Inc. - Men’s Program                
Amethyst House’s Men’s Program provides transitional housing, outpatient counseling, and supportive services to men recovering from addictions. Amethyst House provides drug and alcohol treatment to men, which includes gender specific therapy groups and an intense relapse prevention program.

 

Amethyst House, Inc.- Women’s Program           
Amethyst House’s Women’s Program provides transitional housing, outpatient counseling, and supportive services to women recovering from addictions and their dependent children. Amethyst House provides drug and alcohol treatment to women, which includes gender specific therapy groups and an intense relapse prevention program.

 

Centerstone Recovery-Engagement Center
This program supports funding for an open-door, low barrier, community resource for individuals with substance use disorders to reduce ATOD use by engaging individuals with subsance use diorders in evidence-based treatment and increase their recovery capital.

 

PREVENTION CATEGORY:

 

Big Brothers Big Sisters-  Community Based One to One Program           
Youth mentoring organization that matches adult volunteers to a child in a variety of programs.  The money will be used for the One-to-One program case management services and enhanced teen programming for high-risk teen-age youth.
           
Rhino’s Youth Center- Rhino’s Youth Center                       
Programming which offers area youth a safe alternative to dangerous behaviors.
           
Stepping Stones, Inc. -Alternatives & Awareness Program                       
Evidence based alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention programs that target youth and young adults. Provide one-on-one life coaching and healthy group activities programs that target youth and young adults.
